Due to a natural breakdown of the fat cells, the fat-away injection is a particularly gentle form of fat removal.

Injection lipolysis (fat-away injection) is intended for small circumscribed fat deposits for moderate fat reduction or also for benign fat growths in patients who do not wish to undergo surgery for various reasons. Through fine needles, a specific active ingredient (phosphatidylcholine), which leads to the breakdown of fat cells, is injected directly and evenly into the fat pads to be treated. Anesthesia is usually not necessary and the treatment is well tolerable. The treatment intervals are individual and vary depending on the body region, as does the number of treatments (usually 2-4 sessions). After the treatment, the patient is immediately ready to return to work. However, the final result can be seen only after a few weeks.

The treatment has few complications. Normal side effects may include swelling and overheating of the injection site, hematoma, tenderness or itching. Patients with soy allergy must not be treated by lipolysis, as severe reaction may occur.
